FAQ
How does Global Guru conduct classes?
Currently, all Global Guru classes are conducted through Zoom. Global Guru hosts all classes and has access to all details from every class session between tutors and students, including (but not limited to) duration, chat details, and attendees. Tutors use interactive Zoom features, such as screen sharing and whiteboards, in order to keep classes engaging for students. In the video below, you can see a class between our tutor Anjalika and her student Saadhvi.

How long and how often are classes?
Our classes last anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Generally, if a student is doing an individual class, they will be given 30 minutes of class time per subject. However, for some K-2 students, we have found that working with 15 minute classes is often more effective, given the attention span of younger brains. On the other hand, some students may require longer times. One of the main features of our classes is their ability to be individualized according to the student's needs. Hence, our tutors will work with your student to find what their optimal class length is. Similarly, the class schedule is also very dependent on the student's needs. Normally, classes occur once a week, but if a student feels that they would benefit from biweekly classes or more, Global Guru and its team of tutors can work to accomodate that need.
Will there be homework?
Global Guru classes follow an LPR system - Learn, Practice, Review. This system is used to ensure that students are progressing as well as retaining information from previous classes. During class, students learn a new topic. After class, 3-4 problems on that topic are assigned as practice for the student. During the following class, the student will be asked to answer 3-4 review questions on the previous topic. While the practice problems are not mandatory homework, it is highly recommended that the student do them in order to strengthen their understanding and prepare for following week's review. The practice problems are also a way for students to discover any confusions or doubts that they have regarding the topic, so that they can ask the tutor to clarify them before moving on to the next class.
